In the Matter of Karyl Anderson Krug

On or about January 13, 2017, the Presiding Disciplinary Judge of the Supreme Court of Arizona signed a Final Judgment and Order admonishing Karyl Anderson Krug as outlined in the consent documents, in In the Matter of a Member of the State Bar of Arizona, Karyl Krug, Bar No. 028911, Respondent, PDJ 2016-9100 (Bar No. 028911). Krug agreed to the discipline and stipulated to violations of Arizona Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1 (competency), 3.1(a) (meritorious claims), and 8.4(d) (engage in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice). She had been co-counsel defending the Maricopa County Republican Committee in a defamation suit. The Arizona disciplinary authority found that Krug had limited civil litigation experience in Arizona and failed to associate an experienced litigator. She admitted that she lacked a good faith basis in law or in fact for her counterclaim for damages of $1 million. BODA case no. 58732
