On July 10, 2006, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals dismissed for want of prosecution the appeal of Normangee attorney Amy D. Smith, 39, SBOT Card No. 00791680, of a default judgment of disbarment issued by the Evidentiary Panel for the State Bar of Texas District 3B1 grievance committee in Case No. H0040417543. The Board found that Smith did not file a reporter 's record or a brief. The Board issued an Order to Show Cause to Smith on March 2, 2006, giving her 30 days to respond and show cause as to why this appeal should not be dismissed for want of prosecution. Smith did not respond.
