On August 23, 2002, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals dismissed for want of prosecution the appeal by Dallas attorney John Douglas Gilliland, 66, SBOT Card No. 07942000 of a default judgment of disbarment issued by the State Bar of Texas District 06A evidentiary panel on November 15, 2001, in cause number D0089913537. Gilliland appealed this matter to the Supreme Court of Texas in Cause No. 02-0850. On December 12, 2002, the Supreme Court of Texas affirmed the dismissal of the appeal by BODA without written opinion.
