In the Matter G. Michael Cooper III

On or about January 12, 2007, the Supreme Court of Illinois issued its judgment disbarring G. Michael Cooper III in a matter styled In re: G. Michael Cooper III, M.R. 21194 (Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission 05-CH-82). The Illinois Hearing Board found that Mr. Cooper converted $47,692 from a client, engaged in dishonest conduct, and practiced law in a jurisdiction without proper authorization. He failed to respond to the grievance and failed to appear at the disciplinary hearing. The Illinois Hearing Board found that Mr. Cooper violated Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct 5.5(a), 8.4(a)(4), and 8.4(a)(5). The Commission for Lawyer Discipline seeks disbarment in Texas.
