In the Matter of Richard E. Smith

On or about October 16, 2017, the Supreme Court of the State of Louisiana suspended Breaux Bridge, LA attorney Richard E. Smith, State Bar of Texas Card No. 18669550 from the practice of law in Louisiana for one year and one day, deferring all but the first 60 days and followed by a two-year probated suspension in a matter styled: In Re: Richard E. Smith, No. 2017-B-1537. The Louisiana Supreme Court found that Smith violated the following Louisiana Rules of Professional Conduct: 1.15(a) holding a thirs party' property separate from his own; 5.5 practiced law in violation of the regulation of the legal profession, or assisted another to do so.
