PAUL J. HARRIS v. Comm'n for Lawyer Discipline

On December 11, 2003, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals dismissed for want of prosecution the appeal of Abilene attorney Paul J. Harris, 52, SBOT Card No. 09085500, of a judgment of partially probated suspension issued by the Evidentiary Panel for the State Bar of Texas District 14D grievance committee in Case No. F2060002874. The Board found that Harris did not file a reporter's record or a brief. The Board issued an Order to Show Cause to Harris on October 30, 2003, giving him 30 days to respond and show cause as to why this appeal should not be dismissed for want of prosecution. Harris did not respond until December 8, 2003 and did not show good cause why the appeal should not be dismissed. Harris appealed this matter to the Supreme Court of Texas, case no. 04-0028 and it was affirmed on May 21, 2004.
