PHILLIP E. LAYER v. Comm'n for Lawyer Discipline

On March 28, 2007, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals dismissed for want of prosecution the appeal of Dallas attorney Phillip E. Layer, 55, SBOT Card No. 12065600, of a judgment of fully probated suspension signed by the Evidentiary Panel for the State Bar of Texas District by the 06A grievance committee in Case No. D0060526997 on June 12, 2006. The Board found that Layer did not file a reporter's record or a brief. The Board signed a Second Order to Show Cause to Layer on February 5, 2007, giving him 30 days to respond and show cause as to why the appeal should not be dismissed for want of prosecution. Layer did not respond.
