In the Matter of Douglas James Hord

On September 1,1994, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals disbarred Houston attorney Douglas James Hord, State Bar of Texas  Card number is 09994200. On June 13, 1991, Hord was found guilty of 19 counts of bank fraud and making fraudulent and false statements on loan and credit applications in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1014 in Case No. H-90-00275-01, styled United States of America v. Douglas James Hord, In the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston, Texas and was sentenced to six months in prison on each count, to run concurrently, and, upon release from prison, ordered to serve a term of supervised release of two years as to the first nine counts and one year as to the remaining 10 counts, to run concurrently and ordered to make restitution of $2,438.45 and ordered to pay a special assessment of $950.00. On October 22, 1993, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit affirmed the sentence and conviction.  BODA case no. 04599.
