On June 25, 2008, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals signed an interlocutory order of suspension against San Antonio attorney Mary S. Roberts, 52, State Bar of Texas Card No. 00788294. On or about February 26, 2008, Roberts was convicted of five counts of theft in violation of Texas Penal Code §§ 31.03, an Intentional Crime as defined in the Texas Rules of Disciplinary Procedure, in Cause number 2006CR6404A, styled, The State of Texas v. Mary S. Roberts, in the 226th District Court of Bexar County, Texas. Roberts was sentenced to 10 years in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on each of counts I-III and two years for counts IV and V, sentences to run concurrently. The sentences are fully probated. Roberts appealed the conviction and the Court of Appeals for the Fourth District of Texas affirmed the criminal conviction on January 11, 2011. On July 6, 2011, the Board disbarred Roberts from the practice of law.
