On January 28, 2019 the Board of Disciplinary Appeals affirmed the judgment of partially probated suspension of Dallas attorney Mpatanishi Syanaloli Tayari Garrett, 43, State Bar of Texas Card No. 24073090, signed on May 15, 2018 by Evidentiary Panel 6-2 for the State Bar of Texas District 6 grievance committee in Case No. 201605294. The evidentiary panel found that Garrett violated TDRPC 3.02 by taking a position in a bankruptcy matter that unreasonable increased the costs or other burdens and TDRPC 3.04(d) by knowingly disobeying an obligation under a ruling from the tribunal. Ms. Garrett appealed the Board's decision to the Supreme Court of Texas, case no. 19-0160, and the court affirmed the decision of the Board on August 30, 2019. BODA cause number 60782.
