On July 31, 2025, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals entered a Judgment of Disbarment in the compulsory discipline case against Austin attorney Joseph Salvatore Cocchiaro [#24069525]. On April 17, 2024, a Judgment of Conviction by Jury was filed in Cause Number 22-1079-K277, styled The State of Texas v. Joseph Salvatore Cocchiaro, in the 277th District Court, Williamson County, Texas, wherein Cocchiaro pleaded guilty to the offense of Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Other Felony in violation of Texas Penal Code § 30.02(d), a first-degree felony. He was sentenced to eleven (11) years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
