On October 4, 2004, the Board of Disciplinary Appeals signed a judgment of disbarment against Austin attorney Marc D. Murr, 48, SBOT Card No.14717300. Murr plead guilty to and was convicted of mail fraud; aiding and abetting in violation of 18 U.S.C. 1341 and 2, an intentional crime as defined in the Texas Rules of Disciplinary Procedure, in Case No. A-03-CR-085(2)-SS styled, United States of America, Plaintiff v. Marc Douglas Murr, Defendant, in the United States District Court, Western District of Texas, Austin Division. On December 19, 2003, Murr received a fully probated sentence where he was placed on probation for five years, fined $40,000 and incarcerated for six months.
