On January 22, 2013, Mr. Marchan was found guilty of racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering , interference with commerce under color of official right (3 counts), aiding and abetting honest services mail fraud and was sentenced to 42 months in prison, followed by three years supervised release in case no. 1:11CR00594-001, styled, United States of America v. Ray Roman Marchan, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Brownsville Division. Non-suited on hMarch 12, 2013 after the death of Mr. Marchan.
